Pune hasn’t been known for a robust theater scene, but now a homegrown effort is looking to put the spotlight on burgeoning local talent. In the tony Kalyani Nagar neighborhood, popular with expats, an old bungalow has been converted into Gyan Adab, a cultural hub for small theatrical productions, literary festivals, open-mic nights, and more. Check out the website to see what events are coming up—there might be a poetry reading or a jazz set that catches your fancy. Afterward, head down the street to the popular Flour Works café. It’s famous for its stellar brunch, but the selection of freshly baked pastries and cakes will make a great ending to the evening.
Gyan Adab and the Flour Works are both located on the same street in Kalyani Nagar, about 15 minutes from the Conrad. It’s about a 10-minute walk from one to the other.
